In this fascinating DVD we focus on the type 4 and 5 locomotives from this classic decade shinning the spotlight once again on BR (British Rail) Blue as it finally succumbed to sector liveries.

See and hear once again class 40s, 45s, 46, 47, 50s, 55s, 56s, 58s & 59s as you remember them in all their splendour.

Highlights also included are  40s on the S&C, 45022 on ‘The Devonian’ in 1980, 46009 on passenger, 47042 on MGR at Doncaster, 50025 in action on the day before it crashed, Deltics North and South of the border, early days of the 56,58 & 59s

  • Class 40s in North Wales the S&C and around Manchester
  • 45/0 and 45/1 locomotives in the North West, North East and South West of England including 45063 on a Summer Saturday working and 45022 on 'The Devonian' in 1980 and Tinsley unofficial names on 45/1s.
  • 46s on parcels and passenger workings including 46016 & 46039.
  • 47s - a fabulous array of liveries from scenes North and South of the bordeer including Summer Saturday at Norwich.
  • Also see 47901 in action.

Rare film of both unrefurbished and refurbished class 50s can also be seen. Among the many highlights we see Class 50’s 'Neptune', 'Superb', 'Conqueror', 'Barham' and Formidable' amongst many others.
Also features 50025 'Invincible' in action on the day before it was written off .

See the Inimitable 'Deltics' in their last two years of action. This all new footage includes 'Royal Scots Grey', 'Ballymoss', 'Green Howards', 'The Black Watch', 'Meld' and several others. Also 55013 at Selby before the re-routing of the ECML and the 'Deltic Tribute' tour of 2 Jan 1982.

Class 56s in BR blue, large logo blue and several variants of grey. See the experimental 56042, the first to be withdrawn.

Class 58s in red-stripe livery through to grey with sector markings.
