Featuring every member of the fleet, as well as the prototype DP2, this programme takes the viewer through the whole era of the class from 1962 to the present date. The story commences with operations on the LMR of British Rail followed by early views after their transfer to the Western and Southern regions of the network. Highlights include the D400s in action in Scotland & North-West England, both in pairs and singly, early Class 50 scenes at Reading, Paddington, Bristol & Penzance, newly named locomotives, refurbished examples entering traffic, 50149 in action in Cornwall, an extended look at Class 50 railtours, the first firing-up of 50049 on the scrap line and even a cab ride in 50029.
The programme runs for over 85 minutes and carries brief commentary (with on/off option) .
