Scenes from Disc 1

Locomotive D6716/37016/37706

Delivered new to Stratford depot in London in June 1961 as D6716, this locomotive was later to become 37016 and finally, in 1987, 37706, being named CONIDAE four years later.
Our programme scene depicts 37706 storming out of Preston with the 1048 Manchester-Barrow train on 25 April 1992.

Locomotive D6739/37039/37504/37603

Depicted in it's guise as 37039 with a West Highland departure from Crianlarich on 8 August 1983.
In later years this loco was renumbered 37504, then 37603, and once more became a regular performer on this route with the Aluminium trains from Fort William.

Locomotive D6799/37099/37324

Happily, 37099 still exists to this day in preservation, based at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, Currently she carries the 37324 number dating back to her Motherwell days.
Indeed, she was given the name 'CLYDEBRIDGE' at Motherwell Depot in 1986 and has now been re-united with this name in preservation.

Our scene of this locomotive shows her as 37099 departing from Prestatyn on 24 June 1995 with the 1323 Bangor-Crewe service.

Scenes from Disc 2

Locomotive D6814/37114

New to Sheffield Darnall in February 1963 as D6814 and renumbered to 37114 in 1974.
During her life she has carried the names 'DUNROBIN CASTLE' and 'CITY of WORCESTER'.
Our view shows her in EWS livery soon after leaving Grain Thamesport on 18 June 2001 with 6T79 1159 Grain-Hoo Jn.
At this time she was carrying 'CITY of WORESTER' nameplates

Locomotive D6824/37124/37894

Now stored in Tyne Yard, this locomotive is seen in happier times in her last guise of coal sector liveried 37894 as she speeds through Adderley Park, near Birmingham, with a rare passenger working, the 1647 Reading-Liverpool of 13 May 1998.

Locomotive D6863/37163/37802

Sadly this locomotive is no more...
Exported to Spain in 2001, she was involved in an accident and written off being broken up in a Madrid scrapyard.

Our video clip depicting this locomotive reminds us of those fabulous triple-headed coal duties in South Wales as 37802 leads 37704 & 37799 out of Barry station on 20 May 1995 with an Aberthaw to Barry sidings working.

Scenes from Disc 3

Locomotive D6916/37216

An Eastern engine for much of it's life, 37216 is seen on it's old stamping ground in BR Blue complete with Stratford depot Cockney Sparrow insignia as it heads through Reedham on 17 June 1989 with the 0828 Leeds-Yarmouth Summer Saturday service.
Where have those trains gone now?

Locomotive D6935/37235

A Landore engine from new, 37235 was only renumbered once, from D6935 to it's final identity.
She was a fairly early casualty but still exists to this day, hopefully awaiting restoration.
Our DVD scene of this locomotive shows her departing in fine style from Wigan North Western with the 1900 Blackpool-Liverpool of 5 August 1991, her penultImate passenger workings before withdrawal.

Locomotive D6968/37268/37401

The ETH fitted 37/4 variation of locomotives are always popular.
37401 MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS features in large logo blue livery as she departs from Dumbarton on 3 August 1988 with the 0834 Glasgow Oban service.
